TURA: The All Garo Hills Trained Electricians’ Association (AGHTEA) held its general body meeting recently at Tura and came up with some resolutions including preparation of approved rates for all major and minor domestic wirings.
According to the AGHTEA secretary Xavier Sangma, the aim of the Association is to create employment opportunities for trained unemployed youth by engaging them in contract works provided by the government as well as domestic works to reduce and check illegal contractors and as such, the Association would strive to ensure 50 per cent employment of local youth in connection with electrical wiring works both in the private and public sectors.
