SHILLONG: In an attempt to put pressure on the State Government to implement the Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the State, the KSU, FKJGP and HNYF will jointly hold a sit-in-demonstration on September 3 from 11 am to 4 pm.

“We will be holding this agitation since we feel that the ILP is the best mechanism for dealing with influx problem in the State,” FKJGP working president Jo Marwein said after a meeting of the NGOs on Tuesday. The venue of the sit-in-demonstration is the Secretariat Parking Lot.

He also urged the government to get the ILP Bill passed in the upcoming session of the State Assembly.
