BANDH AND THE CITY

WHAT RUBBISH!…The sleepy city on any given day wakes up to the sight of ‘last night’s remnants’ but a bandh ensures that garbage ultimately fills up the nooks and corners of every locality. Unarguably, even the
municipality needs a day off!
WHAT A TREAT!… With every shop being unwillingly shut down, street food becomes an instant hit for the craving citizens who face the bandh up front and break free from the shackles that grounds the entire state. We can’t have a food bandh..can we?
WHAT A MOMENT!… Can’t blame those who hum songs and take their ‘non-polluting’ means of transportation for a spin. One single day sans the honking and shouting means a lot for the population aligning the busy roads of the city. (Photos by Sanjib Bhattacharjee)
