NH- 44 work to be reviewed

 Agartala: A high level team of Ministry of Road Transport headed by Director General of BRO Lt Gen S. Ravi Shankar is scheduled to arrive here on October 4 next, the official sources said.

The objective of high profile visit is aimed to review the works of Assam-National Highway (NH-44), considered lifeline not only for Tripura but also Barak Valley and Mizoram.

Speaking on a notice moved by CPM MLA Naresh Jamatia, PWD Minister Badal Chowdhury on Friday informed the House the state government has been requesting the Centre to expedite the face-lift work of the NH-44.

MLA Jamatia while speaking over the issue, strongly demanded immediate completion keeping in view of the increasing traffic on the highways.
