NONGPOH/TURA: The District Administration of Ri-Bhoi and West Garo Hills districts through their respective administrative heads released the Electoral Draft Summary to representative of all the political parties in the two districts including the United Democratic Party (UDP), Congress and BJP on Monday.
“In view of the Up-Coming State Assembly Poll to be held on 2013, the District Administration had prepared the summary revision draft of all the Polling Station and Voter in different Constituencies in the District”, Ri Bhoi District Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Akash Deep Singh said while briefing the media on Monday.
He also informed that, the main aim and objective of electoral draft is to ensure that every citizen of the district who have attained the age of 18 years above should be enrolled in the electoral roll.
The draft electoral roll has been prepared in both soft and hard copies.
Singh also said that, the draft electoral roll have been prepared in accordance with the Registration of Electoral Rules, 1960. The copy is available for inspection in the office of the Electoral Registration Officer and at each polling station during office hours.
In Tura, the draft summary was handed over to representatives of various political parties by West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Pravin Bakshi.
