Office bearers

The All Meghalaya Journalists Union (AMJU) has elected the first office bearers which include Philip Marwein as president, Andrew W Lyngdoh as vice president, Prasad Gupta as general secretary, Lamphrang Nongspung as assistant general secretary, Elmer War as treasurer, Walton Jyrwa as organising secretary, Bhabok M Laloo as publicity secretary, besides eight executive members.

Blood donation

The NSS, NCC and RRC St. Edmund’s College in collaboration with the Regional Blood Bank, Pasteur Institute and Blood Bank, Nazareth Hospital is organising a voluntary blood donation camp on Thursday from 9:30 am onwards at the College campus as part of the ongoing college week celebrations.

KSU body

Artis Wanniang has been elevated to the post of president of West Khasi Hills Students’ Union at the general executive committee of the Union. Mebankit Syiemlieh was elected vice president, D Sun as general secretary, Amainstarfield Lyngkhoi as assistant general secretary, besides other members. The oath taking would take place on October 26 at Mawkyrwat.

Community hall

Chief Adviser to the Government and MPCC president, DD Lapang, on Tuesday inaugurated the community hall and conference room of Saiden village constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 16 lakh. The function was attended by Nongpoh MDC Dr C Lyngdoh, ex KHADC CEM CB Syiem and others.
