SAI bag top honours in State karate

 SHILLONG: The Sports Authority of India team emerged as the overall champions of the 21st State Karate Championship organised by the All Meghalaya Karate Association at JN Indoor Stadium, Polo on Saturday.

Kiddies Corner Secondary School were the runners-up.

Ronald L Lyngdoh of AMKA was declared as the best karateka (karate practitioner) in the men’s senior level while Pyngshngain Shangdiar of SAI won best karateka in men’s junior category.

SAI stood out in both junior and senior events in the women’s category, with Lawandashisha emerging as the best junior and Mebaai Shabong as the best senior.
