The past few weeks marked a series of robbery cases in and around the city as well as the other districts of the state.

lOn Monday at around 4 am, unknown miscreants stole one Tata Sumo vehicle (ML-05H-1574) from the residence of Santosh Rai at 7th Mile, Upper Shillong. Matter is under enquiry.

lOn Sunday, one Anand Kr. Agarwal lodged a complaint stating that at 9 am, his employee Bishnu Sharma stole Rs. 11,000 and household goods from his residence at Police Bazar, Shillong.

lOn Saturday, unknown miscreants burgled the jewelry shop of Nando Kishore Saha at Bhaitbari (WGH) and stole gold and silver ornaments and Rs. 25,000. The total value of stolen items estimated to around Rs. 2,76,600.

lOn October 11 night, police arrested one Wanjop Rynniaw (17 yrs) for stealing Rs. 600 from the shop of Aitihun Syiemiong at Riangdo (WKH).

lOn the same night, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08C-3845) belonging to one Basu Miah Ansari from Hallidayganj Bazar (WGH).

lOne A Asthana lodged a complaint stating that between May 16 and August 17, one Aveek Dutta stole his cheque book and withdrew Rs. 30,000 by forging his signature.

lMeanwhile, one Binaka Devi lodged a complaint that on July 29, one, Birmaya Mawroh took a loan of Rs. 26,000 from her and agreed to return the same on September 29. However, she failed to return the money.

lIn yet another rape case, one unidentified person raped one minor girl (7 yrs) at Mawryngkneng (EKH) on October 13.

lOne, Jones L Mawlong, Sirdar of Mawlong village lodged a complaint that on September 30 unknown miscreants damaged a bridge at Tdong Khlaw, Mawlong.
