SHILLONG: Three students of Gorkha Patshala HS School, Garikhana sustained injuries when a wall collapsed inside the school campus on Friday afternoon.

According to police, the wall was quite old and even its foundation was not good which led to the collapse of the wall.

Three students who were injured have been identified as Barsha Thapa (14), Sarmistha Gurung (14) and Shewta Pradhan (13). They were taken to Shillong Civil Hospital for treatment.

The incident has raised questions on the safety of school buildings and walls inside the educational institutions in the city with many schools functioning from old and shabby buildings which are exposed to risks.
