TURA: The State Eligibility Test (SET) passed candidates of the session 2009-10 have demanded early appointment either by filling up vacant posts or by creating new posts in primary schools.

They made this demand in a memorandum submitted to Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma through West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner on Monday.

In the memorandum, they also demanded regularization of services of the SET-cleared assistance primary school teachers, who were appointed on contractual basis.

While condemning alleged irregularities in the appointment of assistant teachers in government-run primary schools, they issued a seven-day deadline to the authorities to fulfill their demands.
