Theft cases

Police on Thursday arrested one person, Pynsha Kyndiat (25) of Ladthalaboh, Jowai who was involved in a car theft case recently. The accused was arrested by the police two days after the Maruti local taxi (ML05 G 9594) was stolen from Mawlong Hat on November 13 and later recovered from Dawki. Prior to his arrest, city patrol arrested one person on Wednesday.

On November 14 between 9 am to 12:30 pm, unknown miscreants stole Rs. 2,80,000 from the house of Ricky Myrthong at Sumer of Ri-Bhoi. Matter is under enquiry.

Shri Baiarkupar Kurkalang lodged a complaint at the Lumdiengjri PS, that on November 13, some unidentified miscreants forcibly took away his Maruti local taxi (ML-05G-9595), from his temporary driver viz., Wilbert Kharbangar.

On November 6 at around 1 am, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-09A-3933) belonging to Charlash M. Sangma from his residence at Konagittim, South Garo Hills.

On November 6 at around 1:30 am, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-07A-1731) belonging to Raja Sarkar from his residence at Balsrigittim South Garo Hills.

Murder case

Police on Thursday sent the body of Abdul Sattar, a teacher of Mawsynram Higher Secondary School to his family members at Nagaon in Assam.

Sattar who was found dead at his quarter at Mawsynram was suspected to be murdered by unknown miscreants.

Police stated that they are still investigating into the matter to get a lead into the people who committed the murder.
