Mulayam, Dimple, Akshay, speaker in SP’s first LS candidate list in UP

Lucknow: Ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh on friday announced 55 candidates for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections giving ticket to 18 sitting members.

SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav from Mainpuri, his daughter-in-law Dimple Yadav from Kannauj, nephews Dharmendra Yadav from Badaun and maiden political entry of Akshay Yadav(Son of Ram Gopal Yadav) from Ferozabad were among the first family of the state getting the ticket in the first list.

UP Assembly speaker Mata Prasad Pandey from Doomariaganj and minister in the Akhilesh Yadav government in UP, Surendra Singh Patel from Varanasi were also in the list.

The first candidates list of the SP was released here today by party general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav here. The SP’s list comes just a day after Congress constituted its committee for the Lok Sabha elections.

Mr Yadav said the party was discussing the names of the candidates for the remaining 25 seats in the state which also includes some of the sitting members.

The SP leader also clarified that the party was yet to decide on the candidates name in Rae Bareli and Amethi, the den of the Gandhi family.

Earlier Mulayam Singh Yadav had announced that the party will not field any candidate from Rae Bareli and Amethi.

Ram Gopal Yadav said the announcement of early candidates was done to enable the leaders to start their campaign at the earliest and have enough time to reach to each and every voter in their constitutency.

Yadav, who released the candidates list in presence of another party general secretary Naresh Agwaral, said from Lucknow senior SP leader and former UP minister Ashok Vajpayee has been given ticket while Anand Bhadharia, the team member of Akhilesh Yadav has been given ticket from Dhaurara seat.

UP minister Kamal Akthar’s wife Humera has been given ticket from Amroha, UP minister Chitranjan Swarup’s son Gaurav Swarup has been given ticket from Muzaffarpur while controversial SP MLA Vijay Mishra’s daughter has been given ticket from Bhadoi.

Criminal background leader Arun Shanker Sukhla alias Anna has been given ticket from Unnao while sitting MLA Vishamber Prasad Nishad has been given ticket from Hamirpur seat and sitting MLA Rajmati Nishad from Gorakhpur.

The sitting SP LS members who have been repeated are Mulayam Singh Yadav (Mainpuri), Yashveer Singh (Nagina), Dharmendra Yadav (Badaun), Mithlesh Kumar (Shahjahanpur), Ms Usha Verma (Hardoi), Ms Sushila Saroj (Mohanlalaganj), Premdas Katheria (Etawah), Ms Dimple Yadav (Kannauj), Ghanshyam Annuragi( Jalaun), R K Patel (Banda), Rakesh Sacchan( Fatehpur), Shailendra Kumar (Kaushambi), Reoti Raman Singh (Allahabad), Braj Bhushan Saran Singh (Kaiserganj), Neeraj Shekhar (Ballia), Toofani Saroj (Macchlishahr), Ram Kishun (Chandauli) and Pakauri Lal Kol (Robertsganj).
