SHILLONG: Police on Monday arrested one police constable driver for allegedly raping his own 16-year-old daughter on Sunday at around 11 pm at Madan Laban. Constable Lumlang Myrthong went to fetch his daughter from her mother’s house at Malki Lumbalang in a police gypsy and took her to Madan Laban where he allegedly raped her. After committing the crime, he dropped her on the roadside near her house. Meanwhile, the Civil Society Women’s Organization (CSWO) has demanded stringent action against the erring cop. “We demand that the judiciary should not grant bail to the accused,” CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing said in a statement.
