SHILLONG: The village elders of four villages under the Nongspung Syiemship, East Khasi Hills, on Monday rubbished the allegations leveled by one N Syiemlieh of Laitnongrim village against local legislator JA Lyngdoh that he had abandoned Laitnongrim village in terms of infrastructural development.

“It is completely wrong on the part of Syiemlieh to accuse someone publicly without approaching the concerned Dorbar Shnong. The allegations were made by Syiemlieh for personal reasons,” Laitnongrim Dorbar Shnong secretary Lambad Sad told reporters here on Monday.

The elders of the other three villages included the Sordar of Mawphansnar, Sohphoh and Pyndendiwah, all under the Nongspung Syiemship.

N Syiemlieh, a resident of Laitnongrim village recently alleged the local MLA JA Lyngdoh of abandoning the village especially with regards to a road which has been constructed since 2003 but till date, no sign of improvement was visible.

According to the village elders, JA Lyngdoh has contributed a lot to the welfare of the villages and its people especially in terms of electricity supply, water supply and transportation.

“There are more infrastructural developmental projects yet to be completed and we have full faith that our local representative will complete the pending projects,” they said.
