SHILLONG: The Mylliem Syiemship on Friday, performed the Annual ritual known as ‘Ka Pom Blang Iewduh’ at khlieh Iewduh as a mark of conciliation with the market deity for a blessed and peaceful trade and to seek the deity’s blessing to protect the children of the land from any trouble.
This annual ritual performed by the Myntris of the eleven clan (khatwei kpoh), this year witnessed animal sacrifices by the myntri of the Kharkongor clan after offering prayers to the market deity seeking the blessings. The animal sacrifice was then followed by a dance which was accompanied with musical instruments such as drums and flutes.
