NONGPOH: The Umsning Assembly Youth Congress Committee (UAYCC) resolved to extend its support to the candidate recommended by the AICC and the MPCC in the upcoming Assembly elections in the state during a general meeting held at Umsning on Tuesday.

Speaking to this scribe, UAYCC president Walson Kharkrang and general secretary MG Kharshanlor said that all the youth party workers and supporters were intact and united to work together for the victory of the Congress and would work for the candidate recommended by the high command.

“During the meeting the leaders of the UAYCC asked all its members if they are willing to work for the Congress and subsequently it was decided that all the youth workers in the party are united and ready to work for it,” said these leaders while adding, “If the high command recommends the name of Nongpoh MDC Dr Celestine Lyngdoh it would be an honour for the Congress workers and the supporters in the Umsning Constituency.”

Kharkrang and Kharshalor also stated that the UAYCC would respect the initiative taken by the high command and work harder for strengthening the party.
