Weapon seized
On Friday morning, police recovered and seized one country-made revolver from a dustbin at Polo Market. In this connection, one George Sangma Gangte was arrested.
Assault
On December 6, unidentified miscreants assaulted one Poland Sing Nengnong (34 yrs) at Bimola point, G.S Road. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital, Shillong. Matter is under enquiry.
Abduction
On December 5, police arrested two people, one Jengjing Marak and one Manowar Hussain in connection with a Kidnapping/abduction case under the Rongjeng Police Station, East Garo Hills.
One Binaris Shangdiar, lodged a complaint at Nongstoin Police Stattion that on December 5 afternoon, unknown miscreants kidnapped her daughter, Baiamon Shangdiar (22 yrs) in a local taxi (ML-06-5291) from Mawiaban, West Khasi Hills and took her towards Riangdo West Khasi Hills. Later, acting on a tip-off, police arrested one of the accused, one Balisha Dkhar and on her leading, the victim was rescued from Umkhynraw village. The taxi driver, Orlandus Marshillong and Kwon Lyngkhoi (38 yrs) were arrested while one Dino Puwein managed to escape.
Extortion
On December 4, police arrested five people, Grething R Marak (22), Thokarik R Marak (23), Betho S Sangma (26), Bandu D Sangma (24) and a juvenile, in connection with an extortion case under Rongjeng Police Station, East Garo Hills.
Rape
A complaint was lodged recently at Ranikor Police Station, that on November 11, one Bijong Sen raped one minor girl (6) at Balat South West Khasi Hills. Police arrested the accused.
