The MeECL Park located at Umiam was in the news for every wrong reason a year ago. The standards of maintaining the children’s park that was constructed to provide space for recreation facilities for children was very low. Soon after the news flashed in the newspapers, the corporation was quick enough to bring back its lost beauty as all the tall bushes were cut out and the park was given a new look. However, exactly after a year upon a revisit, it was visible that the park has once lost its charm and the poor maintenance of the park could be seen. The long bushes has once again started to grow and the sorry state of the park drives away visitors these days The children’s park was constructed three years years back at a cost of Rs 7 lakh, and is currently in a dismal condition.
