One dead, several injured in road mishaps across the State

One person identified as Tahunlang Kharmawphlang succumbed to her injuries when the vehicle (ML-05G-3488) she was traveling in was involved in an accident with a truck (ML-05J-3152) at 12th Mile, Mylliem on Wednesday. A criminal case has been registered in this connection.

One Alif Raja (45, M) sustained injuries when he jumped off a moving bus at Pyndeng Umiong under Mairang Block, West Khasi Hills on Wednesday. The injured was admitted at Tirot Singh Memorial Hospital, Mairang.

A Mahindra Max (ML10A – 6605) travelling towards Shillong was involved in a head-on collision with a Maruti Alto (ML05H – 7721) near Mawphor Press at Mawlai Mawiong on Wednesday. Bimi Nongbasap (30, F), Wanlambok Nongbasap (10, M) and Elicia Dkhar (18, F) were admitted to Civil Hospital, Shillong.

A motorist and a pillion rider sustained injuries after they fell off the motorbike when it skidded near the DC Office at Williamnagar on Tuesday. Dibimus Momin (35, M) and Diras M Sangma (42, M) were admitted at Civil Hospital, Williamnagar.

In a hit and run case an unknown male victim sustained injuries when the scooter he was riding was hit by another vehicle at Lad Umsaw under Umsning Block, Ri-Bhoi District on Tuesday. The injured victim was shifted to Civil Hospital, Shillong.

In another hit and run case reported from Umling under Umsning Block, Ri Bhoi District, Deeperson Marak (7, M) and Anbula Marak (58, F) sustained injuries after they were hit by a moving vehicle while they were walking on the side of the road on Monday. The injured were admitted at Civil Hospital, Shillong.

A truck coming from Guwahati and travelling towards Kwang went off the road and into a paddy field after it overturned near ICAR at Barapani on Monday. Cordilous Myrsing (15, M) and Heimonmi Phawar (20, M) were shifted to Bhoirymbong CHC.
