Guwahati: After the grenade blast in Tinsukia that killed three children, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has instructed the police to beef-up security arrangements further, particularly in view of Republic Day celebrations.

Mr Gogoi has asked the top brass in the police administration to strengthen security following a grenade blast at Digboi in Tinsukia district in which three kids died on January 9 , an official statement said here on Friday.

He has directed the DGP to tighten up security and to launch a vigorous manhunt to nab the culprits behind the incident.

The chief minister also instructed the DGP to take all possible measures to foil the sinister designs of the anti-national forces and to ensure that no such incidents recur in future.

He further directed him to beef up security in the state in view of the forthcoming Republic Day.
