Villagers field candidate for Khliehriat seat

JOWAI: Residents of Rymbai village in East Jaintia Hills, which has about 4000 voters, held a meeting on Saturday and unanimously decided to field Finely Bareh as an Independent candidate from the Khliehriat seat.

The village authorities fielded Bareh after Justice Lyngdoh, nephew of sitting MLA Nehlang Lyngdoh, withdrew from the fray.

Bareh has twice contested the District Council Election from Bataw-Lakadong and Rymbai respectively, but lost on both occasions.

With Bareh, the poll battle in Khliehriat with witness a square fight between Congress candidate and JHADC member Amos Dkhar, UDP candidate and JHADC Chairman Obil Kyndait and Justine Dkhar, besides Bareh.
