Fraud

One Tsering Cheophel lodged a complaint at the Lumdiengjri PS that one Yeshi Chongzom forged the signature of the Tibetan Settlement Officer and had also manipulated the documents of one Yema and Lhundup.

Body recovered

Jylliew Fourth Lyngdoh, Headman of Lawbyrtun village had lodged an FIR at the Nongstoin PS that the body of one Drim Lyngdoh was recovered from Umkrem village West Khasi Hills. The deceased was reportedly missing since the night of January 13.

Theft

On the night of January 15, unknown miscreants broke into the shop of one Jayshree Mangal at Laban, Shillong and stole a laptop, cell phones and memory cards valued around Rs 4 lakh.

On January 9 afternoon, unknown miscreants broke into the house of one Kukon Ghosh in Jail Road and stole two EPICs, gold ornaments and Rs 5,000.

Rape

On January 15, Lakisan Khardewsaw (40) raped a minor girl (12) at Mawlai Kynton Massar. Later, local residents apprehended and assaulted the accused. As a result, he sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.

Assault

On the evening of January 13, one Charles Born Rapthap assaulted one Skorlet Rani at Mawphlang East Khasi Hills. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to CH, Shillong, where he succumbed to his injuries the next day.
