Theft

On January 27, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08C-0856) belonging to one Debabrata Mazumdar from Chandshilla under Phulbari PS in West Garo Hills.

On January 27 at around 10.30 am, unknown miscreants stole Rs 55,000 and two cell-phones from Holy Cross Convent, Salpara in North Garo Hills.

On January 26, police arrested one Salan Dkhar in connection with a dacoity case registered at Jowai PS.

BDO of Resubelpara, MD Arengh lodged a complaint at Mendipathar PS that on January 21 around 5.30 pm, unidentified armed miscreants robbed Rs 2,45,780 meant for local Job Card holders from the president & secretary of Chitukona Garo VEC at Damas Rangsi in North Garo Hills. The miscreants also forcibly took away one motorcycle and two cell-phones.

A complaint was lodged at Shillong Sadar PS that on January 8, one Sunil Bora who is an employee of Vijay Enterprise, Shillong, fled to Nagaon, Assam along with mobile recharge coupons and e-recharge valued around Rs 3,80,395.

A complaint was lodged at Laban PS that unknown miscreants stole iron railings from the footpath between Anjalee Petrol Pump and Military Hospital, Shillong.

Police arrested two persons Lukkin Marak (20) and Nibi Momin (22) in connection with a theft case registered at Mendipathar PS.

Bodies recovered

The Sirdar of Dambo village, East Garo Hills, Projen Momin reported at Rongjeng PS that one Sistermoni M Sangma (60) and her husband Silman Marak alias Boro, were found dead in their house at Dambokrok village. During investigation, police arrested one Breningham D Sangma (49).

On January 12 at around 8 pm, an unidentified male person (40) was found lying at Mawlonghat, Bara Bazar, Shillong. He was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital where he died on Tuesday.

Murder case

A complaint was lodged at Rongjeng PS that on January 21, Dila C Marak and his accomplice intercepted one Robindra Singh at Silchang village in West Garo Hills and forcibly took him into a jungle and murdered him.

On January 27, police arrested three persons, Arki Rymbai, Jemnud Bang and Boiki Rymbai in connection with a murder case registered at Jowai PS.

Kidnapping case

One Malika Banai lodged a complaint at Gasuapara Check Post that on January 24 one Tamizur Rahman kidnapped her minor daughter (15) from Jatrakona in South Garo Hills.
