Kohima: The star campaigner for Naga People’s Front (NPF) and chief minister Neiphiu Rio has asserted that only a stable Government can bring development and the NPF party has provided stability to Nagaland besides ensuring development and progress.

Addressing a big rally at Phek town, 145 kms east of Kohima, Mr Rio on Tuesday said that the oldest regional ‘Cock Party’ is going from strength to strength and was able to give a stable Government in Nagaland and stability has ensured development and progress.

Speaking in Angami dialect, he said his party is ready to pave the way in the event of a political solution, be it one day, one week, one month or one year from the day of formation of a new Government.

If political solution comes, party is ready to pave way, he asserted, but reminded that the Congress has never given such a commitment to the Naga people.

Mr Rio said the achievements of the Congress in Nagaland are their booklet of allegations and their success in preventing the Prime Minister from visiting Nagaland in ten years.

The state government and even the Governor has invited the Prime Minister to Nagaland on several occasions, but he has not visited in ten years as the state Congress leaders have always prevented them from bringing development to Nagaland.

“There are 28 states in India and we are the 16th state of the Indian union, but the Prime Minister has no time to visit and now that elections season is here, they will all come and campaign in Nagaland. If they love Nagas and care for us, then they should have come for development but they are going to come only during election time,” he said.

Mr Rio assured that the financial position of the state is stable and being well managed. Not one day have we delayed the payments of salaries and pensions and all payments for development projects are going on timely basis. (UNI)
