The District Election Officer, West Jaintia Hills District, has informed that Election Observer B Venkateswara Rao will meet the general public from the 1-Nartiang, 3-Raliang and 4-Mookaiaw Assembly constituencies while Kamal Kumar Dayani will meet the general public from 2-Jowai and 7-Amlarem constituencies from 9am to 10am every day at Circuit House, Jowai.

As part of the SVEEP campaign to create awareness on ethical voting and voting rights among the youth a unique programme with the theme ‘My Vote My Valentine’ is being organized by the West Garo Hills District Administration on February 14 at the Deputy Commissioners’ Park from 11 am. The day-long programme, a brainchild of West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Pravin Bakshi, will include open to all slogan writing and group singing competitions on ethical voting and voting rights. A valentine love line writing competition will also be organised. The highlight of the day will be songs sung by renowned Balam Marak and Demian Sangma followed by short skits by the Achik Theatre Society. A special performance by the Titans will wind up the programme.

The District Election Officer, West Jaintia Hills District, has informed that inspection of expenditure register of each candidate will be done by the Election Expenditure Observer or the authorized officer. Candidates are directed to produce the register maintained by them on a day-to-day basis along with supporting vouchers to the designated officers: M Lytan (2-Jowai); LT Tariang (3-Raliang); FB Basan (4-Mookaiaw), all in DC Office, Jowai and B Jyrwa (7-Amlarem) at SDO (E) Office Amlarem on February 12, 15, 18 and 21 respectively between 11am and 3pm.

West Garo Hills District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Pravin Bakshi has informed that the polling station buildings of 7-Chisegre and 8-Chisegre located at Chisegre L P School falling under 52-Rangsakona (ST) Assembly Constituency has been relocated to the adjacent building of Chisegre ICDS building and Chisegre Community Hall respectively with prior approval of the Election Commission of India.
