The Weather Gods in the State seem to be particularly unhappy with BJP National Mahila Morcha president Smriti Irani as most of her public meetings and rallies are getting cancelled due to inclement weather over the last two days.

On Sunday three rallies in Shillong city had to be cancelled due to rain. Her fight against weather continued even on Monday when out of three rallies in Garo Hills, she could attend only one in Kharkutta while the other two were cancelled, again due to rain.

The Returning Officer of 23-Sohiong (ST) Assembly Constituency lodged a complaint at Laban PS that on February 16 at around 2 pm, Congress party workers, in an inebriated condition, disturbed the smooth flow of vehicles at Lyngkhoi village in East Khasi Hills and also obstructed the Elections Observers and other Election Officials on duty.

Independent candidate from Williamnagar constituency, Jonathone N Sangma, has lodged a complaint at Williamnagar PS that on February 15 night, unknown miscreants served open threats and intimidations to his supporters by distributing printed materials in and around Williamnagar town in East Garo Hills.
