Gratitude

The president of the Jaintia Hills Congress Committee Gilbert Sten has extended his appreciation to the security forces and the police department for ensuring the smooth flow of the public rally addressed by Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi at Jowai on Tuesday.

Strike

The state committee of All India Road Transport Worker’s federation has expressed its full support to the All India two day strike on February 20-21 called by the all Central Trade Unions, federations and associations of the country. The federation also called upon all the road transport workers of Assam and north east states to support the strike through a chakka bandh programme.

APL distribution

The distribution of APL, BPL, AAY, additional quota of APL rice and adhoc/ additional BPL rice, levy sugar and SK Oil are being made available to all fair price shop centres against December, 2012 quota.

 General meet

The annual general body meeting of Shillong Central Rongoli Bihu celebration committee, Bishnupur will be held on February 24 at the premises of the Assam Club, Laban at 3pm.

Training

The Office of the Coaching Cum Guidance Centre for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes, Shillong is conducting a 14-days pre-examination training for recruitment of multi tasking (non-technical staff) 2013, conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) since February 18.
