Appointment
The President of India in his capacity as the visitor of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has appointed Prof Mohd Aslam, a professor of the School of Continuing education, IGNOU as the Vice Chancellor for the period of five years.
Tax bills
The Shillong Municipal Board has informed all the tax payers of Shillong Municipality that the bills for municipal tax for the year 2013-14 have been dispatched to the residences. However, those who have not received the bills can collect them at the SMB office and pay the tax before March 31 to avail the rebate facility.
Silver Jubilee
The Tendercare Nursery School, Kench’s Trace will celebrate its silver jubilee year with a variety of functions through 2013. All the ex-students and ex-staff members are to register their names with the school authorities in order to participate.
World Water Day
The District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM), East Khasi Hills in collaboration with the office of the SDO (Civil) Sohra will organise a one-day advocacy and publicity programme at Sohra on March 22 to mark the observance of the World Water Day 2013.

Women’s College will organise a two-day National Seminar on “Tagore and Contemporray India” on March 22 and 23 at 10am in the college premises whereby NEC member PP Shrivastav will be the chief guest.
