SHILLONG: Police arrested one unarmed branch constable (29) Sonjing S. Sangma of Songsak police station for allegedly raping a minor girl on March 19.
Earlier, it was reported that on the night of March 19, one Gio S Sangma (27) and his accomplices gang-raped a minor girl (14) in his quarter at Kusimkolgre Forest Check Gate, East Garo Hills District.
Police later arrested Sangma in connection with the crime.
