Bomb recovered

On April 6, one unused petrol bomb was recovered from near the gate of Church of God School, Qualapatty, Shillong.

Murder

On April 5 around 10 pm, one Parish Rabha murdered Devraj Rabha (19) at Borbhuin, Byrnihat Ri Bhoi.

Theft

lMd. Tahir Uddin lodged a complaint at Khliehriat police that on April 5 around 5.30 am, his wife Phai Pakem took Rs. 18,64,000 without his knowledge and fled away.

lOn April 4 night, unknown miscreants stole one new Tata Sumo vehicle belonging to one Sabina Dkhar from Mynkseh in East Jaintia Hills.

Ransom for kidnap

One Skot Mukhim lodged a complaint at Khliehriat police station that on April 3 around 3.30 pm, he received a call from a mobile-phone (No. 9863815798) which informed him that his minor daughter, Iammi Pakma (4) is with them somewhere in West Khasi Hills. On April 4 around 4 pm, again he received a call from the same mobile-phone in which the caller demanded Rs 30 lakh to be paid within 5 days, as ransom for the release of the kidnapped victim.

Driver duped

One Mishal Nongphud lodged a complaint at Lumdiengjri police station that on April 2 around 12.15 pm, unidentified passengers hired his Bolero vehicle (ML-05F-1084) and proceeded towards Guwahati, Assam. However, on reaching the Inter-State Bus Terminus Guwahati, he fell unconscious after the unidentified passengers offered him some intoxicating stuff. On April 3, he regained his consciousness and found himself at Hajo, Assam. In the process the miscreants stole Rs. 20,000, one mobile-phone, Driving Licence and Vehicle documents.

Police obstructed

On April 2, following information that one girl identified as Alokhi Hajong had committed suicide by hanging in a forest at Marpara, South West Garo Hills, a Police team led by SI P. Lynshiang proceeded to the Place for conducting inquest on the body. However, one Prohlad Hajong and other villagers obstructed the Police from doing their duty and instead cremated the body.

Assault cases

lOn April 2 around 10 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted one Sahajan Au, driver of truck (AS-01-AC-0546) and also looted Rs. 20,000 from him at Nongrimmiaw village in West Khasi Hills . In this connection, Police arrested one Longkumar Lyngkhoi.

lOn April 1 around 6 pm, unidentified rniscreants assaulted two persons, Nolbith Marak and Terak Sangma at Wageasi, North Garo Hills. As a result, the victims sustained injuries.

Staff missing

Rakesh M. Sangma lodged a complaint on March 30 at Nangalbibra police station that his employee , Md. Hafijur had collected Rs 2 lakh from one Anup Sharma for payment to coal labourers at Jadi,South Garo Hills. However, he was found missing along with the money since March 29.
