FKJGP calls off Sohpian-Nonbah road-blockade

NONGSTOIN: The FKJGP Nongstoin Circle on Monday called off the 12-hour road blockade along the NH- 44 (E) between Sohpian and Nonbah, Nongstoin that was scheduled for Tuesday.

The blockade was called off after a meeting with the SDO (PWD), Mawmaram Sub Division and the Executive Engineer (PWD Roads) West Khasi Hills District in which the officials assured of ‘temporarily repairing’ the concerned road by month end.

The Executive Engineer also informed that a proposal of Rs 6.7 crore has already been sent for the construction of the said road and once sanctioned, the relaying of the road would be carried out without any further delay.
