Armed miscreants loot over 55 trucks

 NONGSTOIN: Armed miscreants looted over 55 trucks on the Riangdo- Athiabari road in the wee hours of Tuesday.

The incident occurred near Nongdiengkain village, 14 kms from Aradonga.

Sources informed that the miscreants blocked the road by putting up a truck that seemed to have broken down in the middle of the road, resulting in a pile up of around 55 trucks.

At 3 AM, around 10 to 12 persons dressed in camouflages and faces covered, appeared on the scene and began demanding money from the truckers.

Source revealed that two of the miscreants brandished AK- 47 rifles while the others were armed with rods and swords.

The truck drivers claimed that the miscreants looted around Rs 17000 to Rs 18000 from each of the truck.

The matter was reported to the Aradonga Police Outpost.

Police have launched a manhunt to nab the perpetrators.
