Aizawl: Following border tension over the alleged custodial death of a Tripura’s Bru villager accused in armed robbery, Langkaih group Young Mizo Association has threatened to close the bridge over Langkaih river that connects Tripura and Mizoram until the tension dies down.

A decision has been taken to close the bridge from April 29.

A source from the group YMA said closure of bridge was necessary for the safety of Mizoram villagers as Bru community has been organising protest at Damcherra, the nearest town on the Tripura side of the border. The bridge connects Damcherra in Tripura and Kanhmun in Mizoram. (UNI)
