Rabindra Jayanti

Women’s College, Shillong will celebrate Rabindra Jayanti on May 8 at the college auditorium at 11 am. Professor Sukalpa Bhattacharjee, Department of English, North Eastern Hill University will be the guest speaker on the occasion.

Art camp

The Riti Academy of Visual Arts in collaboration with the Arts and Culture Department will organise the Thoh Shun Art Camp, 2013 in commemoration of the birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore at Brookside, Rilbong on May 9 and May 13. A book, Ka Thohdur Mynta, will be released on the occasion.

The State BJP President K.S Lyngdoh nominated H.S Syiemlieh as the Chairman of Political Affairs Committee of the Party.

Concert

A musical concert will be organised by Jalani Production, entitled ‘Ka janmiet ki jingrwai I Bah E Brektist R Wanswett’ at U Soso Tham Auditorium at 5.30pm on May 11.

Office bearers

The Madan Laban Youth welfare Organisation elected its new office bearers recently with Confide Rani as the president, Innocent Mawkhiew as the vice president and Herbert Kharsyntiew as the general secretary besides others.

Nurses’ week

The Trained Nurses Association of India, Shillong branch will hold the combined inaugural function of nurses’ week celebration at NEIGRIHMS auditorium at 11.30 am on May 14.

Workshop

The National Academy of Sciences, India North East Region local chapter along with Lady Keane College will organise a two-day workshop on “Defining the role of women scientists and teachers in promotion and application of science and technology-North East India Perspectives’ at 9.30 am in the college auditorium on May 8 and 9.
