SHILLONG: The fate of many outstation students who deposited several lakhs of rupees for admission in CMJ University hangs in balance in view of the ongoing CID case and also sealing of the University here.

CMJ University had advertised all over the country about its distance education graduation courses in various disciplines.

Subsequently, many students from several parts of the country had applied for various graduation courses. However, with the recent developments, they are at a loss on whom to turn to for the redress.

Several students from outside the State called up The Shillong Times office to know in what way they can deal with the issue.

The dreams of many outstation students who joined various courses have been shattered after the move of the Meghalaya Governor RS Mooshahary to probe the issue of alleged fake degrees given by the University.

It is not clear whether the students, who have already acquired their degrees or pursuing one will be able to get any relief.
