Congratulations
St Edmund’s College, Higher Secondary section has extended its congratulation to Prashant Shah and Pragyaditya Das who secured the 3rd and 4th position in the HSSLC exams (science stream) declared by MBOSE recently. The total pass percentage of the college in science stream is 97.39 percent. The college also congratulated Robert W Kharngi, Ronuj Bori, Vidushi Jalewa, Banrilang Kharumnuid and Bijay Ghosh for securing 2nd, 4th, 6th, 7th and 8th position in the HSSLC exams (Commerce stream).The total pass percentage of the college in commerce stream is 100 percent.
World Red Cross Day
The World Red Cross Day will be celebrated on May 10 at the Raj Bhavan at 11am in which the Governor will be present as the chief guest.

The Nongmensong Youth Development Organisation has extended its best wishes to ka the general secretary of the organization, Scaletty Lawriniang, daughter of Stowed Sawkmie and Prensimai who is selected by the Ministry of Sports & Youths affairs to represent the State and the country in the International Youth Exchange Programme to be held at China from May 12-22.
Seminar
The Bangiya Sahitya Parishad Shillong will organise a seminar on Bongiyo Sahitya Parishad and Rabindranath Tagore at 10am at the Parishad premises on May 12. A cultural function by the eminent artists of Shillong will be followed by 4:30pm on the same day.
Blood donation
Meghalaya Aids Control Society and state blood transfusion council in collaboration with Jowai Civil Hospital and regional blood bank will organize an awareness cum voluntary blood donation camp on May 10 at Jowai Civil Hospital campus from 10 am.
Check up camp
The Smile Train Project of Institute of Child and Woman Health Care Hospital, under Dr. Kuntal Goswami Memorial Public Charitable Trust, Zoo Narangi Road, Guwahati-24 will hold a free Cleft Lip and Cleft palate patient counselling and General health check up camp at Samanda PHC, Williamnagar on May 11 at 11 am.
Closure of road
The DC of South West Khasi Hills has informed that due to the ongoing foundation work of the RCC bridge at Umngi river, the bridge will be close for movement of heavy vehicles like buses, trucks and the like from May 10. This has been done in order to prevent any unwanted and unforeseen accidents.
