Editor,
I am enrolled (Registration no. 80187710102577) wih CMJ University, Modrina Mansion, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, Meghalaya for Ph.D -Management, year 2011 under Counsellor: Dr. Priya Ranjan Trivedi, Bureau of Innovative Research and Development, New Delhi. Dr. Trivedi is an eminent educationist and also the Vice Chancellor of the Global Open University, Dimapur, Nagaland (Source: Wikipedia). His liaison officer Mr Salabh Srivastava, looks after the student support system.
Before taking admission, I have checked the status of the university in the UGC website, confirmed and re-confirmed its existence. After admission, I have verified my enrolment number / registration number from CMJ University and found it correct. I have visited the campus several times and never sensed anything wrong or fishy. The staff was co-operative.
I have followed all the instructions and guidelines of the university meticulously. I was about to submit my Ph.D thesis after 2 years & 5 months of hard work. Meanwhile this unfortunate incidence of CID surveillance, court case and sealing of CMJ University campus at Shillong occurred. I have prepared my thesis with utmost sincerity and honesty following all the guidelines of the university. I have already paid Rs 90,000 out of Rs 1.20 lakh. Where is my fault? What will happen to my future? Presently all the contact numbers of CMJ University, Shillong and BIRD, New Delhi are either switched-off or not in service.
The University should take responsibility for my enrolment and a valid degree be awarded and recognized by the State Government and UGC, in my case. The Government should devise a solution to this problem to ensure that my studies are not hampered. The directive by the State Government would put the future and career of all scholars, all over India, at grave risk.
I therefore request the Government of Meghalaya to look into the matter. I can submit all the relevant documents viz. copy of money receipt, communication/correspondence and other documents if and when required to do so. I further request you to keep my name, address and contact details withheld for now.
Yours etc.,
Scholar in distress.
