DC orders seized oil to be transferred to Supply dept

 SHILLONG: West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner, Pravin Bakshi, has passed an order seeking transfer of 10,120 litres of SK Oil which were seized by the police from vehicles illegally transporting the fuel to Assam recently, from police custody to the Supply department.

Bakshi informed that the Meghalaya SK Oil Distribution and Control order was passed recently seeking transfer of the seized item from the police to the Supply department as the same falls under the lookout of the Supply department.

It was on May 8, during vehicle checking at Garobadha in West Garo Hills when police detected five Mahindra pick-up vehicles (ML-08A-3463), (ML-08B-5772), (ML-08B-0059), (ML-08B-5873) and (ML-08C-7617), illegally transporting the fuel to Assam.

According to Bakshi, the persons who were caught with the fuel were arrested and remanded in judicial custody and investigation is still on.

The DC also said an enquiry has been ordered to ascertain the facts in the case.
