SHILLONG: The State Government is likely to take action against Additional Advocate General SP Mahanta, who is alleged to be involved in the land grab case, as he did not get any favourable feedback from Deputy Chief Minister in charge law Rowell Lyngdoh when he met him on Tuesday evening.

According to Lyngdoh, during his meeting with Mahanta, the lawyer told him that it was his wife who was following up the case and he was not involved.

However, in the court order, Mahanta is shown as one of the defendants along with his wife, Venetta Kharsyntiew.

Later, the Deputy Chief Minister met Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma and discussed the matter among other issues.

Lyngdoh said he had asked the Law Secretary to examine the order of the court and brief him and the Chief Minister about the details so that necessary action can be taken.
