Call for gubernatorial relief for CMJ registrar

 SHILLONG: The teaching fraternity of St Anthony’s College has asked the Governor RS Mooshahary to grant gubernatorial relief to Mrinal Kanti Deb, who was recently arrested in connection with the CMJ University case. Deb, a retired faculty member of the Zoology department of St Anthony’s College, was the registrar of CMJ University.

In a petition to the Governor, the teachers stated that Deb had rendered his service to the college with dignity and integrity for more than three decades.

“We appeal to the Governor to grant relief to Deb who appears to be an unfortunate victim of events that has taken place in the university,” the letter added.

Deb’s health condition is learnt to have been deteriorated following his arrest.
