SHILLONG: The Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), Meghalaya, another institution under the scanner of both the Regulatory Board of Meghalaya and Governor RS Mooshahary, on Saturday claimed that it has received approval from the UGC and Distance Education Council (DEC) and the tripartite of the UGC-All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE)-DEC, which is a statutory body for running distance education programme passed by the Act of Parliament and on the basis of this approval, the University can run their distance education programme.

Milli Goel, Director (Admin), MGU in a statement issued here said that as per MHRD notification, the students who have completed the courses under distance education programme through DEC & tripartite of UGC-AICTE-DEC are eligible for Central government jobs.

“The syllabus of the University is industry oriented and made as per the current demand of the industry”, Goel added.
