Accused wanted
The State Police has issued a look out notice for Harlal Jat, Din Dayal Sharma and Bhawarlal Yadav in connection with a Sadar PS case. Anyone having knowledge about the whereabouts of the accused may contact the Shillong police control room on 0364 2222277 or at Sadar police station.
Fraudulent withdrawal of money
• One Lucky Shangdiar lodged a complaint, at Lumdiengjri PS, that on May 20 at around 3:45pm, he apprehended two persons, Ranjeet Midi Giri (31 years) and Biju Singh (33 years), who fraudulently withdrew Rs 13,000 from his account through the ATM at Jaiaw Pdeng, Shillong.
• One Ngangom Iehwarjit Singh lodged a complaint, at Laitumkhrah PS, that on May 12 and 19, unknown miscreants fraudulently withdrew Rs 7,440 from his account at ICICI Bank, Shillong.
• Arshad Ahmed lodged a complaint, at Shillong Sadar PS, that on May 18, unknown miscreants fraudulently used his HDFC Bank Credit Card for shopping at Noida Biu Bazar to the amount of Rs 36,400.
Thief apprehended
On May 19, one Kyrshan Kharkongor was apprehended while he was allegedly stealing materials from a building belonging to Ramanus Nongsiej at Pynthorbah, Shillong.
ATM damaged
One Piate Ghosh lodged a complaint, at Rynjah PS, that on May 18 at around 6pm, unknown miscreants damaged the ATM at Rynjah Bazar, Shillong.
Child marriage
One Jones Lamare lodged a complaint, at Khanapara PS, that on May 15 at around 11am, his daughter (16 years) was found missing from Tapatoli market in Ri-Bhoi. It later transpired that one Md Mahis Uddin (26 years) had taken her to his home at Kahikuchi village, in Kamrup district of Assam, where he married her.
Assault
On May 15, unidentified miscreants allegedly assaulted Sarbin Nongbak and Livingstone Rongrin at Nongmise village (West Khasi Hills) and also demanded money from them.
Phensedyl seized
The Anti Smuggling unit of the Guwahati customs division recovered 5,500 bottles of phensedyl cough syrup on Tuesday from a truck (AS25-B1986) on National Highway 37 near Jhalukbari, Assam. An inquiry indicated that the consignment was coming from Kolkata for transhipment to Triputra. The driver of the truck, Liton Dutta, was arrested.
