Resentment over rising crimes against women

 SHILLONG: The Garo Hills-based NGOs on Thursday organised a Silent Public Procession at Garobada, South West Garo Hills to express the resentment of the community against rape and murder of women in the area.

The social organizations which included the A.chik Students’ Welfare Association, A.chik Youth Welfare Organisation, (Garobada Unit) Garo Students’ Union (Garobada Unit) and Nokmas of different A.king of the district made a clarion call to protest against the increasing crimes against women.

The public and NGOs have demanded for the post mortem report within a period of three days and arrest of culprits, failing which a bandh would be called by the NGOs.
