TURA: The Garo Students’ Union (GSU), CEC, Tura, has expressed shock and anger over the withholding of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination results of Rongram Deficit School, which was declared on May 23 last and sought action against the headmaster concerned for his negligence.

As per the statement of the GSU, the Union had approached Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) to enquire the reasons for withholding the results of that particular school and it was informed that the Headmaster of the school, Farnield D. Sangma had failed to submit the internal grade marks to the Board before the results were declared.

The Union has urged the authorities concerned to take appropriate action against the headmaster for his negligence and demanded that he should step down.

The vice president of the GSU, CEC Robert Momin informed that the Union had a meeting with the School Managing Committee, who assured the Union that action would be taken against the irresponsible headmaster.

“Such an irresponsible teacher should step down

from his post because it is due to his negligence that the results of that school were withheld and the poor students are left frustrated”, the Union demanded, adding that such incidence should never be allowed to happen in future.
