Thieves apprehended

On May 29 at around 1.30 pm, two persons, Daniel Khongwir (31 yrs) and Jerry Nongrum (28 yrs) were caught red handed while they were stealing a car tape from one Maruti car (ML-04B-3933), which was parked at Lower Lachumiere, Shillong.

Inmate of Sanker arrested

Dr Sandi Syiem of Sanker Hospital, Shillong, lodged a complaint at Mawlai PS that on May 27 at around 3pm, one Meral Wahlang (41 yrs) who is under rehabilitation at the hospital along with one mentally retarded person, Sanaki Sari, stole Rs 65,000 from a quarter of the Hospital at Mawlai Mawroh. Police arrested Meral Wahlang.

Miscreants arrested

On May 26, five unidentified miscreants looted one Lemson Nongbak of one SBBL gun (No. 9435), Rs. 1,000 and also threatened him with dire consequences at Nongdaju village (WKH). The miscreants also looted Rs. 6,000 from one Gowen Gabun and Shri R. Nongbak. In this connection, Police arrested five persons Sengkan Sangma (19 yrs), Sanu G. Momin (20 yrs), Bung D. Sangma (19 yrs), Glad D. Marak (21 yrs) and Tengbirt R. Marak (18 yrs).

On May 26, Police arrested one Prinabir N. Sangma (19 yrs) in connection with dacoity case under Bajengdoba PS (NGH)

Threats made

One Pildiana Kharbuki lodged a complaint at Laban PS that on May 25 at around 8.30 am, she received one demand note for Rs. 50 lakh from an unknown person who also threatened to kidnap and kill her family members, if she failed to comply with the demand.

Kidnapper held

A 17 year old Sudipta Dhar who was kidnapped by one Bikash Dhiraj Rai from Pine Mount School since May 19 was rescued when the police arrested the accused recently.
