Agartala: The state govt put ban on Rose Valley, one of the largest Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFC) and four others in collection of deposits from Tripura and further directed to pay back entire deposits had collected from the state by July 31 next.
Sadar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Manik Lal Das today served an interim order to Rose Valley Group, Hemangini Infrastructure Limited, Jivan Samriddhi, Basil International Limited and Pailan Group directing them not to put up their properties for sale or transfer.
“Under the Tripura Protection of Interest of Depositors Act 2011 the companies have been directed to repay the deposits and also directed the companies not to receive fresh deposits in any form or schemes”, Mr Das said.
Rose Valley was henceforth restrained from collecting or mobilizing any kind of monetary deposits from public under any plan and has to make payment of all dues entitlements of all its existing depositors against the plans/schemes such depositors hold under any nomenclature at the end of the next month, the ordered stated.
“We will take necessary action if they ignore the order”, he threatened claiming that the chit fund companies have been illegally running their business in the state because could not show any license or any kind of sanction from RBI, SEBI or state or Centre for collection of deposits from customers. All the cases filed against NBFCs operating in the state by the depositors would be handed over to CBI soon. (UNI)
