Curtains fall on GENESIS 2013

SHILLONG: GENESIS 2013, a two-day celebration of talent and fun organized by the Department of Management Studies, MLCU, saw students from different institutions converge at All Saints Hall here to exhibit their skills.

At the concluding function on Friday, Sikkim Manipal University was adjudged the best All Rounders. They won the first prize for debate and other activities. ICFAI University stood second with difference of just one point.

The first day (June 13) kicked off with the marathon flagged off by RG Lyngdoh. The management fest was formally inaugurated by Dr. Ampareen Lyngdoh, Minister of Urban Affairs & Labour.

The first day’s event included a seminar titled, “Dynamic Market Forces: Evolution of online marketing”. The panel of resources persons included A Zulfi – Grace City, Raj Kharmih- Executive Director, Chilli Breeze, Babatdor Dkhar- Editor, North East Monologues and Gavin C Shullai- Zonal Sales Manager, AIRCEL.

A quiz competition followed by the battle of wits on the topic – “The presence of industries is a boon to the state of Meghalaya,” were the highlights of the second day’s fucntion. Students from St. Anthony’s College, St. Edmund’s College, ICFAI, Sikkim Manipal University and MLCU showcased their creativity through the “Sell Your Ideas” competition. Students exhibited their team spirit and enthusiasm in all the activities of the day
