Natasha A Nongrum has been awarded the Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry by NEHU for her thesis entitled “Impact of commonly used herbicides and pesticides on Nitrogen metabolism of free-living cyanobacterial isolates from rice fields of Meghalaya”. She completed her research work under the supervision of Prof. MB Syiem, Deptt. of Biochemistry, NEHU. She is currently teaching in Christian Academy Higher Secondary School, Shillong.

 Barnali Sarma was awarded the doctor of philosophy in Biotechnology by NEHU for her doctoral work on ‘Characterization and diversity analysis of metal tolerant pseudomonads from uranium rich area of Meghalaya.’ She worked under the supervision of Dr SR Joshi, associate professor in the department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, NEHU.
