SHILLONG: A goalless draw against Royal Wahingdoh saw Nangkiew Irat emerge champions of the the U-19 Shillong Premiere League at JN Stadium here on Saturday.

At the end of the league, Nangkiew were able to muster up 14 points from six matches while Rangdajied United claimed second place following at a close 13. On the other hand, a win for Royal Wahingdoh would have elevated them to top spot with 14 points, but that was not to be as they concluded their tourney at 12 points.

Earlier, Nangkiew Irat created several scoring opportunities but were unable to capitalise.

For Wahingdoh, keeper Kennio had a good outing with few brilliant saves even as his side’s attack lacked the much-needed penetration.
