SBI lends financial help to school

 SHILLONG: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility activity, the State Bank of India, Nayabunglow Branch at Umsning, Ribhoi District gifted Rs 1 lakh to Pratlynti English School, Sohliya village in Ribhoi District for purchase of tables, benches and other furniture items for the school, which is managed by the Ribhoi Strawberry Growers’ Association.

Two aqua water filters were also gifted to the school by SBI. Sohliya village has been adopted by SBI Nayabunglow under its SBI ‘Ka Apna Gaon scheme’ and has been financing the strawberry growers of the area for the last few years.

Farooque Shahab, General Manager, NW-II, Guwahati, handed over the cheque of Rs 1 lakh to O. Lyngkhoi, the Secretary of Ribhoi Strawberry Growers Association at the school premises on Friday in the presence of Deepak Kumar Lalla, DGM, AGM, SBI officials of the Branch, teachers, school children and parents.
